Privacy notice

This Privacy Policy sets out how Alido collects, uses, discloses and retains personal information in connection with goalido.com, the Alido application and demo bookings. Alido is operated by Vincent Messina, an individual based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Who is responsible

Vincent Messina, CEO and founder, is responsible for privacy at Alido. Contact privacy@goalido.com to ask questions, exercise your rights or make a complaint.

When a business uses Alido to manage its customer conversations, that business decides why it collects customer information and how it uses Alido. We process the information entrusted to us to provide the service. This notice does not replace that business’s own notice or its obligations to you.

Information and purposes

When you contact us or book a demo, we receive the contact details, appointment information and questions you provide so we can arrange the meeting and respond to you. Please avoid including sensitive information in a demo request.

For Alido accounts, we process account and authentication information, business membership and settings, and technical session information to provide access, support the service and protect accounts.

For enabled customer-messaging services, Alido processes customer names and messaging identifiers, enquiry details, conversation content, delivery status, consent or opt-out records, and business instructions. These support the inbox, replies, follow-ups and customer-request handling. Information comes from the business, its users and connected messaging services, including Meta’s WhatsApp Cloud API.

Operational records may include the time and nature of account or service activity, technical errors and changes to business settings. These help administer and secure the service and investigate problems. Information is not required merely to read our public marketing pages; technical connection data is nevertheless processed to deliver them.

AI assistance

When AI features are enabled, relevant conversation text, enquiry facts and approved business information are sent to the configured AI service to generate assistance. Alido currently uses Anthropic models through Amazon Bedrock, with processing in the United States.

Depending on the business’s settings, Alido can assist with drafts or automated replies and follow-ups. AI can make mistakes. Contact the business you are speaking with if you want a person to review a reply or your enquiry. Do not send information that is unnecessary for the service you are requesting.

Who can receive information

Information is available to the business’s authorized users and to people operating or supporting Alido as needed for their responsibilities. Service providers process information needed for hosting, messaging, email, AI assistance and scheduling.

Amazon Web Services provides infrastructure and transactional email. Meta provides connected WhatsApp messaging. Cal.com handles demo scheduling and Cal Video meetings; appointment details are also added to our Apple iCloud calendar. Each external service also has terms and privacy practices for its own services. We may disclose information where required or authorized by law, including to respond to a valid legal request.

Processing outside Quebec

Alido’s primary application and database are hosted in AWS Canada Central. The marketing site is delivered through a global content-delivery network. AI processing currently occurs in the United States, and connected services may process information outside Quebec or Canada. Information processed elsewhere may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of that location.

Cookies and your choices

Our marketing site does not install advertising pixels or optional analytics scripts. Demo buttons link to Cal.com; its own technologies apply when you visit it. The Alido application uses cookies and session information for authentication and security. Blocking these can prevent account access.

You can choose not to submit an enquiry or book a demo. Without the information needed to respond or arrange a meeting, we may be unable to do so. For customer conversations managed by a business, contact that business to discuss another contact method or withdraw consent where applicable. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful and may affect the service that can be provided.

Protection and retention

Alido protects personal information through authenticated access, business-scoped application permissions and HTTPS encryption for public connections.

Our retention rule is to keep personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected or used, subject to retention required by law. Relevant factors include the continuing business relationship, active customer enquiries, account administration and applicable legal requirements. Retention and deletion must also account for records held by connected services and backups. Contact us for information about the records involved in your request; deleting a connection or opting out of messages does not itself erase historical records.

Access, correction and complaints

Subject to applicable law, you can request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, and a copy of eligible computerized information in a structured, commonly used format. You can also ask about withdrawal of consent or deletion. These rights may be subject to identity verification and legal limits.

Write to privacy@goalido.com, identifying the account or business involved and what you are requesting. Do not send passwords or access tokens. We may need limited additional information to confirm identity and locate the records. Where a business controls the information, we will explain the appropriate business contact or coordinate the request with it.

Submit privacy complaints to privacy@goalido.com with a description of the matter. Alido reviews requests and responds in accordance with applicable law, including the reasons for any refusal or limitation. You may also contact Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information. The data-deletion page sets out the procedure for deletion requests.

Changes

We may update this notice when our practices change. The current version and its effective date will be posted here. Where a change requires additional notice or consent, posting the notice does not replace that requirement.
